5 Tips on Group Travel Lodging

We tend to travel a lot with a small group, typically 6-10 people. This helps breakup the budget and allows us to share memories with friends. So that we can gather as a group, we typically stay in Airbnb’s or VRBOs. Here are a few tips that we have learned, along with a few places we have stayed:

1. Typically we travel with several couples, so it's important for each couple to have their own bedroom. If traveling with singles, it’s best to have an option for them to pair up or have their own room....whatever the preference is.

2. Find a place that has a sitting or lounge area for your group to gather. To further enhance the experience, find a place with more than one sitting area like an indoor and outdoor area. This beach house in San Diego had a nice living room, rooftop patio, and floor level outdoor space.

3. If you're not able to find a place where each bedroom has their own bathroom, the next best option is to have two rooms share one bathroom. We’ve made it work with five bedrooms sharing two bathrooms but it’s nice to have more, if possible. This was especially nice when staying in central and south America…..some of us got sick, which is expected. This Airbnb in Lima allowed everyone to have their own bathroom and it was much appreciated!

4. Select a place in walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and bars. People get up and go to bed at different hours and this will allow people to come and go as they please. This café was a few minutes away from one of my favorite Airbnb’s ever!

5. If staying in a warmer climate, find a place with some water or close to a beach....a dipping pool is a good option too. If in a cooler climate, a jacuzzi is always a YES with our group. Who doesn’t love a water feature? We stayed in this house in Costa Rica with a large group. The infinity pools and large living area were an amazing feature.

What other questions do you have when traveling with a group?

When planning group travel, consider accommodations that offer shared spaces and multiple room options to keep everyone together yet with personal space. Look for places with communal areas like lounges or kitchens, which can enhance bonding and reduce costs. For a peaceful retreat after your travels, https://hotelin.com/hotels/Brazil/Espirito-Santo/Vila-Velha/City-view offers serene beaches and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding.

Great question! LionShare is a great resource for the Jacksonville area. Most cafes, restaurants, and hotels have wifi available when traveling. Most businesses understand the desire for wifi, as data plan costs can add up. Kindly ask a patron of the establishment and they’re usually happy to assist.

😎 Hi what do you do when you are traveling and can't get Wifi? Asking for a friend. As I don't travel anywhere that there isn't a LionShare Cowork...they have internet all of the time. 🦁
