We ate at several great places while in Peru but these were my favorite, and all were located in Cusco! It's definitely worth noting that the staff at every restaurant and café we entered, everyone was super friendly and appreciative of our choice to dine with them.
We visited Jacks Café down the street from our first Cusco Airbnb. From the adorable tea pots and mugs to the non-stop delicious menu items, we all became Jack's biggest fans! We ended up there twice during our time in Cusco, once for lunch and once for breakfast. We ordered coca leaf tea which comes out in ceramic pots and all are uniquely painted. The tea is standard for what you get from coca leaves but the presentation was a bonus. Everyone ordered different food items and we all enjoyed what we had. On a side note, they have the fluffiest pancakes for breakfast....get them!
We had dinner at Morena Peruvian Kitchen which is located in the main town center of Cusco. This was my favorite dinner spot during our trip! I was in love with the bohemian theme and the edible flowers decorating drinks and plates. I ordered a chicha sour which is a twist on a pisco sour with chicha morada (purple corn juice) and pisco! I also ordered the sweet potato and pumpkin crème soup while my table ordered a few bite sized things to share as appetizers. The trout is always great in Cusco, so I got that as my meal....it came recommended by the server! The food presentation was stunning and all around our experience was amazing!
Another restaurant where we had a great dinner was the Inka Grill. This was my runner up dinner to Morena. It is also located in the town center of Cusco, close to Morena. When you walk in, you notice the large display of melted candles. It almost looks like candles have been lit and melted over years and it's made a really cool, colorful display! For dinner I got the pesto gnocchi and chicken while my boyfriend ordered the lamb shank. Both meals were were delicious and super affordable in soles. For example, the lamp shank was 60 soles....around $16 USD, you can't beat it!
L’atelier Café was our favorite café with a beautiful street view. Their coffee is tasty and if you order any sort of nut milk, they make it fresh! They have adorable local items in the café like shirts, jewelry, bags, and so much more. The drinks are bit slow to come out but it's totally worth the wait! The view of the street with the flowers were the best way to wake up in the morning.
Where is your favorite spot to dine in Cusco??
