Come along as we adventure through different parts of Peru! I’ll also share Airbnb’s and hotels we stayed in along the way and give you some tips I found helpful. We flew from Jacksonville, FL to Lima with a short layover in Miami, FL to get to Lima, Peru. The flight from Miami to Lima was about 5 hours. First, we start off in Miraflores.

While in Lima, we stayed in Miraflores. This is a district in Lima where there are upscale residential areas and high-end shopping. It’s located south of downtown Lima. Our AirBnb was close enough that we could walk to the well-known area, Calle de la Pizzas (Pizza Street). Pizza Sreet is located east of Parque Kennedy, a beautiful park to stroll around.

Pizza Street is a fun pedestrian street filled with discos, bars, and you guessed it….pizza restaurants! The locals come to life at night so the nightlife there is intense. We enjoyed our first night in Peru by enjoying drinks with the locals in a disco and danced the night away at Strega Rooftop.

Peru is amazing during their summer months, November to March. We visited during February to escape the cooler weather in America. It was still cool enough in Lima that it wasn't a stifling heat, like we're used to in Florida during the summer.

Our Airbnb in Miraflores had 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It was spacious and had a nice size living area for our group to gather. We had 8 people in our group for this trip, so it was mandatory we had at least 4 bedrooms everywhere we went (1 bedroom per couple) and a nice living space to gather in. Most places don’t have central heating or air so open windows is a must! There was heavy fog in the mornings while in Miraflores, but it didn’t keep us from keeping the windows open to have a nice breeze flow through. Each bedroom had a fan to keep air flowing too. The kitchen was stocked with some snacks and instant coffee. The building is gated and security is onsite 24 hours a day. It was a great area and apartment. 10/10 recommend it!
