Last week I posted about my stay at Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa. Join me as I continue my adventure through the bohemian Tulum beach hotel district!
The beach hotel area is where you see all the Instagram worthy artwork and restaurants. The area is filled with majestic shops, restaurants, resorts, and bars! Every spot had its own unique touch with art décor. The entire place gives a bohemian vibe with night life sprinkled in. We wondered the shops and bars to find good food, drinks, and knick-knacks. It was impossible to not want to take pictures every second of walking around with unique art everywhere you turned.
It was like an influencer and hippie paradise! Beautiful people flooded the resorts and bars, snapping selfies everywhere you looked. People were lined up down the street to get that one great shot with an inspiring art piece. Okay yes, I wanted some of those shots but let’s face it, I’m more of an adventure seeking person than an influencer selfie taker. Relax, I’m not hating on the selfie influencers, I’m sure they got some pictures that I can only imagine came out stunning.
We started our adventure at El Pez, relaxing out by the water with a few cocktails. With beautiful views, music, and art we stayed there for a while. We then wondered down the street, stopping by various shops. The shops are loaded with boho themed dresses, crystals, and dream catchers…total hippie vibes! Another stop included a quick bite to eat at Tamarintos. I had a delicious meal before we were swept away, heading back to our resort. Okay yes, I had to post the pic....you know which one I'm talking about! They take their crystals serious and I couldn't stop giggling like a 7th grader! (sorry mom)
Traffic can get backed up, so I recommend renting a bicycle. The strip is lengthy and took us a long time to walk…. we didn’t even make it to the end, and I regret it! Rent that bicycle and go all the way to the end, then work your way back up.
The best time of year to visit is November through December. This is after hurricane season and the hotels are reasonably priced. If you visit during hurricane season, like I made the mistake of doing, expect lots of rain and muddy roads. Trust me on this, don’t make the same mistake I did! I had mud coming up the back of my legs from the rain flooding the dirt roads.
If you’ve been, what’s your favorite part of the Tulum beach hotel district?
